Owner
The owner of Robertson Garden World, Corné, is the son of the founder and has carried forward his family’s deep-rooted passion for plants. Highly knowledgeable and hands-on, he can often be found working in the garden or creating something new — whether it’s sculpting, planting, or shaping new ideas to grow the business. His dedication and creativity are at the heart of what makes Robertson Garden World a place where nature truly comes to life.
Lizelle
Financial manager
Lizelle plays a vital role in the success of Robertson Garden World and Basil & Bloom. As the manager and barista at Basil & Bloom, she brings warmth and personality to every cup, ensuring each customer enjoys a welcoming and memorable experience. Beyond the coffee shop, she also oversees the financial side of Robertson Garden World, keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. Her dedication, attention to detail, and passion for both coffee and the business make her an indispensable part of the team.
Oupa Willie
Founder and tiller
The heart and history of Robertson Garden World began with its founder, Willie — or Oupa Willie, as everyone lovingly calls him. A true visionary with a lifelong passion for plants and landscaping, he built the business from the ground up through hard work and dedication. Though he’s stepped back from running day-to-day operations, retirement doesn’t suit him — you’ll still find him at the shop, working as the cashier and sharing his knowledge and passion for gardening with every customer. His dedication, warmth, and hands-on spirit continue to inspire the entire team and the community.
Ouma Hilda
Founder and manager
Ouma Hilda has been by Oupa Willie’s side since the very beginning, helping to build Robertson Garden World into the thriving business it is today. Her love for creativity and attention to detail recently led her to open her own photography gallery next door, showcasing her passion and talent for capturing the beauty of the world around her. Despite this, she remains deeply involved in the garden center, always busy with a new project and ensuring everything runs smoothly. Her energy, dedication, and artistic eye make her an invaluable part of both the business and the community.
